How to get involved: Scholarship Program
The need for educational scholarships always surpasses the actual Scholarship funds which Vine and Branches has available. Paying for things like enrollment fees which average $140.00 per semester at High School level, required uniforms, transportation, supplies and lab fees keeps many Junior and High School students from furthering their education past elementary level. Parents desiring that their children have the opportunity for affordable private Chirstian education have the opportunity to enroll in our church's accrediated christian Pre-k- 8th grade program. Please be in prayer about how God may use you to meet this need in our ministry. Read more for ideas on how you, your church, youth or small group can get involved.
Could your church VBS "adopt" a specific scholarship student and take up a financial offering each day of VBS to be able to send him or her back to school this fall ? We would gladly provide photos,video and a personal bio about the student you would sponsor for your VBS. Or, could the children bring in small toys, stuffed animals, candy, balloons or party favors during your VBS to send to us for our Children's Outreach Program? Could you invite Vine and Branches Ministries to come and be your visiting missionaries to speak and interact with your children during your VBS time this summer or an upcoming Missions Fair?
Below are several ideas on how you, your church or small group can get involved in helping us to raise the needed funds to get our 15 scholarship students enrolled for this 2006-2007 school year.
Organize your small group, sunday school class, youth group, family or congregation & have a:
* Car wash in the church parking lot after service on sunday. As people arrive allow them to sign up and pay leaving a ticket on their windshield to have cars ready when service ends. Also, does someone in your congregation have a business parking lot in town they would allow you to have your car wash in?
* Doing a church VBS this summer? Allow the children to take up an offering each day for a Vine and Branches Scholarship which woudl send a child or youth to school. Contact us about how we can come and share in your summer VBS or in assisting you to publicize this need during your VBS.
* Offer a lawn, garden, pool or home care service one afternoon or weekend. Organize your group to work together, pack a lunch and dive in.
* "Adopt" a scholarship student and sponsor his or her scholarship between all of the members of your small group, sunday school class, ladies group or youth group. Committ to praying for and supporting financially this student monthly. We would gladly provide you with a photo and personal information for the student which your group sponsors.
* Get together and prepare a special lunch plate to be sold in the dining hall after church on sunday. Divide up the costs of the meal by asking the members of the group or others at church to share the responsabilites of purchasing, cooking and preparing the meal. Be sure to include a drink or sell can drinks too.
* Gather needed school supplies such as: notebooks, computer printer paper, white-out, bookbags, pencils, pens, small sharpeners, erasers and folders. Place a donation box in the church entryway or sunday school classes.
